Dr. Ian Church B.V.Sc, M.A.C.V.Sc.
Ian was brought up in Melbourne and graduated from Melbourne University in 1985. He has a wealth of experience and been based in a wide range of locations including Scotland, England, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Florida and Adelaide prior to settling down as a partner in Newmarket Equine. He has a broad knowledge of equine sports but has a particular affection for racetrack practice and polo, which he played and is highly regarded, particularly for his lameness and diagnostic skills.
Having worked at a number of other racetrack practices in Australia, Ian has an advanced knowledge of what it takes to satisfy our thoroughbred training clients.
Dr. Joe Waldron B.V.Sc
Joe grew up in Melbourne before moving to Wagga Wagga to study Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University.
During his tertiary studies, he completed a breadth of work in the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry, sparking a fascination with equine medicine. Joe commenced his position with Newmarket Equine in October 2017. He is particularly interested in racetrack practice but is also passionate about providing veterinary care for all patients of all equine pursuits.
